This
web-site is designed to educate, encourage and finally invite
you to experience another side of Cuba. While almost 1,000,000
Canadians visit Cuba each year, almost all, if not 99% of these
visitors book trips to Cuba’s All Inclusive hotels in the
beautiful and sandy beach areas of Varadero, Holguin, Cayo Coco,
Cayo Santa Maria and Cienfuegos as well as few more who either
stay or make a one day detour to Havana.
While the
above destinations and format are perfect for most individuals,
couples and families that love sun, beach, sea, luxury, the
company of other tourists and great food, this site is intended
for those that wish to experience a much different, unique,
genuine and cultural break from the Canadian daily grind.
By taking
our suggested detour you will gain access to, and benefit from
Cuba’s wonderful people, villages and very friendly culture.
While this flexible package with a long list of options may not
be for everybody, if you enjoy learning and being exposed to a
different way of thinking and living perhaps the following
arrangements and options may be of interest to you and your
friends .
Geographically, the area suggested spans largely 30 kilometers
from Guanabo to Havana (with the small exception of a day outing
to Matanza some 100 KMs away from Guanabo0 . The corridor is
located in the north/western area of Cuba and provides multiple
different opportunities to enjoy the hustle and bustle of a
large city to the quieter and gentler setting of Cojimar (a
small fishing village nestled along a large, fortified bay) or
the unique town of Guanabo (which is a summer holiday for
thousands of Cubans from Havana).
So for
example, if you and a friend are looking for a one week getaway
and a thorough Cuban experience your schedule could range from
or be your own blend of:
Example 1:
-
Day 1,
2, 3, 4, 5, 6
-
On
and off through the day rotate between the beach, a pool
and bar/café
-
Nights out dancing, partying and meeting wonderful
Cubans.
Or/To…
Example 2:
-
Day 1:
-
Day 2
-
Day 3
-
Day 4,
5, 6
-
You
decide as to whether Havana, Guanabo or Cojimar
-
Or
even a longer full day tour out to Matanza (shopping,
waking about shopping and possibly world class baseball)
with small pint stops at a few fishing villages along
the way.
Or for those
staying two weeks, perhaps a combination of Examples 1) and 2)
plus a day (and night) in Matanza,
The point
is, there is something for everybody from relaxing all day long,
partying all night and taking a small and quite different and
very Cuban affordable outing each day. And, if you wish, and in
an effort to lower the costs, we will do our best to partner you
with a couple of like-minded international tourist.
